Burn Wall

BetaEmbeddable

Holders burn tokens to leave a message. The wall ranks the biggest burns.

The burn transaction is built and simulated against the live chain. It has not yet been signed and sent from a real wallet on mainnet.

How it works

How Burn Wall works.

  1. Step 1:

A holder writes a short message, up to 140 characters, and picks how many tokens to burn.

  2. Step 2:

Our server builds one transaction: a checked burn from the holder's own token account, a memo carrying a hash of the message, and our 0.001 SOL fee. The holder signs it.

  3. Step 3:

Once it confirms, the holder's browser reports the transaction and our server checks it on chain before the post appears. The biggest burns rank first, and the wall also lists the top burners.

Try it

The real thing, on a real token.

This is the live Burn Wall embedded with one script tag. It works the same on your token.

Shown on BONK as an example. It is not a recommendation.

Put it on your site

<script src="https://iamnowutility.com/embed.js"
        data-widget="burn"
        data-mint="YOUR_TOKEN_ADDRESS"
        async></script>
About embeds

Swap in your own token address. Colors and size are set with extra attributes, or in the Studio, which writes the line for you.

What it costs

0.001 SOL per post.

It is paid inside the same transaction as the burn. We never take any of the burned tokens.

Our fee is one line inside a transaction you sign. Your wallet shows it before you approve, and anyone can skip it by using another site.

Every fee we charge

Good to know

  • Burning is permanent. The tokens are destroyed and nobody can bring them back, including us. The page asks for a clear confirmation first.
  • Burning tokens does not raise the price, and nothing here says it will. There are no prizes and no rewards for burning.
  • Only a hash goes on chain. We store the message text so we can moderate it, and we can hide a message from the wall. We cannot change anything on chain.
  • Messages are checked as you type and again on our server. Links, emoji, @handles, wallet addresses and anything that looks like a scam are refused.
  • The wall lists only posts the chain has proven: the burn, the memo and the fee. Its totals count burns made through this wall, not every burn of the token.
  • If the page closes before the check finishes, the post appears the next time the holder opens the wall in the same browser.
  • A holder can burn without our wall. That burn simply has no message here.

Under the hood

How it is built.

Every program it calls is pinned by address. Check any of them yourself.

The mechanics

  • The burn is the token program's checked burn, which lowers the mint's supply. It works for SPL and Token-2022 tokens.
  • A Memo program instruction holds the post id and the message hash, so anyone can check a post against its transaction.
  • Our fee is a plain System Program transfer of 0.001 SOL to our treasury.
  • The holder's wallet is the only signer.

We never hold your keys or your tokens. The burn happens in your own transaction.
